About Vivox
Vivox is Unity's in-game voice platform, the largest in the world. It runs live voice for major titles, and it included call recording and Safe Voice, Unity's system for flagging toxic speech.
Recording is one of the more demanding parts of a live voice platform. It has to capture everything cleanly and stay intact, dealing with huge volumes of data.
The engagement
Synervoz worked with Unity on the Vivox SDK, which let Unity's customers deploy Vivox to game titles across desktop, console and mobile. We were brought on to improve mobile device support.
Vivox has been in production one way or another since 2006, and it was built desktop first. Making it run properly on mobile took real consideration, because mobile wants a mobile-first design. That reaches from how audio is captured and cleaned up on a phone to how a call holds together as the device moves between networks.
We brought real-world mobile expertise
We took on the mobile side of the SDK. Unity's customers got echo cancellation, network roaming, and the other mobile essentials that make voice work well on a phone.
With those essentials in place, Unity's customers could ship Vivox on mobile the same way they already did on desktop and console. Voice became a first-class part of a mobile title.

What this means for your project
Voice and recording is a narrow field, and the people who have shipped it at scale are not easy to find. When you work with Synervoz, you get engineers who have already done it, including inside a platform the size of Vivox.
That experience goes into all of our work with teams building voice and audio features.
